YOUR PURCHASES HELPED LACS SUPPORT ORPHANAGES AND SCHOOLS

One of our partners recently informed us that purchases through LACS online store in 2016 helped bring assistance to 1,100 children in Zambia and Congo, Africa.

When you purchased djembe, daishiki, fragrance oils, candles and other products through LACS online store, you became a part of a community of people who give daily meals, medical care, and schooling to children living in very difficult situations.

LACS extends a huge thank you to our customers and social media followers!

Next month marks LACS's first anniversary and from the onset, the goal has been to shore up grassroots support for artisans and producers in various African countries as well as for other minority owned small businesses.  LACS encourages a love of African music, instruments, clothing and art. Partnerships with NOBUNTO for hand-painted candles, Global Mamas West African shea soap producers and Africa Imports for drum shells, skins, handmade African DjembeAfrican black soapsclothing and more increase connections between our people in the United States and Africa.

LACS SPREADS AWARENESS OF THE MOTHER CONTINENT

Africa is the second most populous continent with a population of about 1.1 billion people and has 54 fully independent nations.  Both Cairo, Egypt and Lagos Nigeria have populations of over 10 million. There are estimated to be around 3,000 distinct ethnic groups on the mother continent. Though the ravages of colonialism continue to take a grave toll, Africa and its artisans have so much to offer us!

LACS continues to support sustainable development and fair trade in 2017. We look forward to making even greater connections!

Wishing you Love, Light, Peace and a Happy New Year!
